Spain Investment Visa
The Spain (Golden) Investment Visa program was launched in 2013. It is a short-stay or residence visa for foreigners who have made a significant capital investment in the country of Spain.
The Spain Investor Visa can be renewed every two years. After five years of living on the Investor visa, investors may be eligible for permanent residency in Spain (and after ten years – citizenship).
This temporary residency visa can be renewed without the investor having to stay in the country. However in order to gain permanent residency and citizenship the investor and their family are required to reside in Spain.
Investments Considered
- The purchase of real estate for a minimum of €500,000 (if the investment is made by a couple married in community of property, one of the spouses may obtain an investor visa, and the other spouse, a visa as a family member of the investor)
- A business project in Spain, of general interest, that will increase the creation of jobs and make significant socio-economic impact on the geographical area in which the project is to be carried out. In this case, the visa may be obtained by a representative designated by the investor to manage the project.
- An initial investment of at least €2 million in Spanish public debt securities, or €1 million in stocks or shares in Spanish companies undertaking actual business activities. Or investment or venture capital funds incorporated in Spain, or in bank deposits in Spanish financial institutions.
