TN visa

TN visa are visa given to citizens who are residents of Canada or Mexico. If a person who is from Canada or Mexico gets a job offer from a US employer then he can apply for TN visa to enter into the USA.
Qualified citizens of Canada or Mexico can stay in the US and work as long as the jobs falls under the lists of NAFTA professions.
The TN-1 visa are for Canadian citizen
The TN-2 visa are for Mexican citizen.
The job should be listed in the NAFTA professions which are:

 

 

Accountant

 Baccalaureate
or Licentiate Degree,
 the applicant must be a Certified Public Accountant (C.P.A.),
 Certified Accountant (C.A.),
 Certified General Accountant (C.G.A.), or
 Certified Management Accountant (C.M.A.).

Architect

 Baccalaureate or Licenciatura Degree,
 or a type of license issued by the state / province / federation, where the applicant is a resident, but not by a local government, that permits a person to engage in a regulated activity or profession.

Computer Systems Analyst

 Baccalaureate or Licenciatura Degree,
 or either a Post Secondary Diploma or Post Secondary Certificate plus three years’ experience.

Disaster relief insurance claims adjuster (claims adjuster employed by an insurance company located in the territory of a Party, or an independent claims adjuster)

 Baccalaureate or Licenciatura Degree, and
 the applicant must have either completed successfully the training in the appropriate areas of insurance adjustment pertaining to disaster relief claims, or has three years of experience in claims adjustment and

successful completion of training in the appropriate areas of insurance adjustment pertaining to disaster relief claims.

Economist

Baccalaureate or Licenciatura Degree.

Engineer

 Baccalaureate or Licenciatura Degree,
 or a type of license issued by the state / province / federation where the
applicant is a resident, but not by a local government, that permits a person to engage in a regulated activity or profession.

Forester

 Baccalaureate or Licenciatura Degree,
 or a type of license issued by the state / province / federation where the applicant is a\ resident, but not by a local government, that permits a person to engage in a regulated profession.

Graphic Designer

1. Baccalaureate or Licenciatura Degree
2. or either a Post- Secondary ] Diploma or a Post-Secondary Certificate plus three years experience.

Hotel Manager

1. Baccalaureate or Licenciatura Degree in hotel/restaurant management,
2. or either possess a PostSecondary Diploma or a Post Secondary Certificate in hotel/restaurant management plus three years experience in
hotel/restaurant management.

Industrial Designer

1. Baccalaureate or Licenciatura Degree
2. or either a Post- Secondary Diploma or a Post-Secondary Certificate plus three years experience.

Interior Designer

1. Baccalaureate or Licenciatura Degree
2. or either a Post- Secondary Diploma or a Post-Secondary Certificate plus
three years experience.

Land Surveyor

1. Baccalaureate or Licenciatura Degree,
2. or a type of license issued by the state / province / federation where the
applicant is a resident, but not by a local government, that permits a person to engage in a regulated activity or profession.

Landscape Architect

Baccalaureate or Licenciatura Degree.

Lawyer (including Notary in the province of Quebec)

1. L.L.B.,
2. J.D.,
3. L.L.L.,
4. B.C.L.,
5. or Licenciatura degree (five years),
6. or membership in a state/provincial bar.

Librarian

1. M.L.S.,
2. or B.L.S., (for which another Baccalaureate or Licenciatura Degree was a

Management Consultant

1. Baccalaureate or Licenciatura Degree
2. or equivalent professional experience as established by statement or professional credential attesting to five years of experience as a management consultant,

3. or five years of experience in a field of specialty related to the consulting agreement.

Mathematician
(including Statistician and Actuary)

1. Baccalaureate or Licenciatura Degree.
2. An Actuary must satisfy the necessary requirements to be recognized as
an actuary by a professional actuarial association or society. (A professional actuarial association or society means a professional actuarial association or society operating in the territory of at least one of the Parties.)

Range Manager/Range Conservationist

Baccalaureate or Licenciatura Degree.

Research Assistant
(working in a postsecondary educational institution)

Baccalaureate or Licenciatura Degree.

Scientific Technician/Technologist

1. Theoretical knowledge of any of the following disciplines: agricultural
sciences, astronomy, biology, chemistry, engineering, forestry, geology,
geophysics, meteorology, or physics;
2. The ability to solve practical problems in any of those disciplines, or the ability to apply principles of any of those disciplines to basic or applied research.
3. A business person in this category must be seeking temporary entry for work in direct support of professionals in agricultural sciences, astronomy,
biology, chemistry, engineering, forestry, geology, geophysics, meteorology or physics.

Social Worker

Baccalaureate or Licenciatura Degree.

Technical Publications Writer

1. Baccalaureate or Licenciatura Degree,
2. or either Post- Secondary Diploma or Post-Secondary Certificate plus three years experience.

Urban Planner
(including Geographer)

Baccalaureate or Licenciatura Degree.

Medical Laboratory Technologist (Canada)/Medical Technologist (Mexico and the United States)

3. Or Post- Secondary Certificate, and three years of experience.
4. The applicant must be seeking temporary entry to perform inlaboratory
chemical, biological, hematological, immunologic, microscopic or bacteriological tests and analyses for diagnosis, treatment, or prevention of diseases.

Baccalaureate or Licenciatura Degree.

Occupational Therapist

1. Baccalaureate or Licenciatura Degree;
2. Or a type of license issued by the state / province / federation, where the applicant is a resident, but not by a local government that permits a person to engage in a regulated activity or profession.

Pharmacist

1. Baccalaureate or Licenciatura Degree;

Visa Requirements

 The applicant has to be of Canadian or Mexican nationalist. Other than these two countries TN visa will be not be applicable for their immigration purposes.
 The applicant has to have a job whether it is part time or full time it doesn’t not matter ,but it should fall under the NAFTA professions to be eligible for application.
 The applicant should show their intent of coming back to their hometown after completing their work.
 The applicant should meet all the education and experience qualification.

 visa Validity

When you first apply for a TN visa you are granted to stay in the US fir 3 years , and thereafter you can extend it for more 3 years. In TN visa there is no. Actual time limit for when you can return. As long you can show that you are employed under a US employer and you strong ties to you home country, you can stay in the US for the time you are employed. And you can change employment which can even extend your stay.

Some restrictions in TN visa

 Once your TN visa expires and you have nit renewed it, the n you cannot stay in the US. You need to go back to your home country and apply again if there is a job for you.
 You cannot do any self-owned business on TN visa.
 You can get any dual immigration like applying for  a green card.
