Not only does Au Pairing abroad give you the opportunity to meet new people, learn about a new culture and allow you to experience a whole new way of living, you will also receive a weekly allowance for helping out with childcare for your host family. With your housing expenses taken care of, you will have the freedom to save or spend your money however you like.
Available Programs
- Au Pair in Spain: 20 – 30 hour working week with a 50€ – 80€ weekly allowance
- Demi Au Pair / Language Tutor: 10 – 15 hour working week to support in teaching English to the children in the family.
Program Duration
Summer Au Pairs: 1 to 3 month long placements are offered between the months of May and September with 1 month placements mainly being in the months of July and August.
Short term placements: 1 to 3 month long placements can also be arrange during any point of the year if this is preferred.
Long term placements: School year placements can be anywhere between 3 and 12 months in length.
Requirements
- Candidates must be between 18-30 years of age
- Female and male candidates accepted
- Must have some previous experience in care giving or looking after children.
- Received an education at GCSE level or equivalent. (leaving certificate)
- Must possess a full valid driving license.
- Spanish speaking candidates are preferred but not essential, but must be proficient in English and be prepared to learn and improve their Spanish speaking skills.
- Personal qualities we will look for in candidates are perseverance, adventurous, open mindedness, the ability to adapt to new surroundings and be in good physical and mental health.
- Have a clear criminal record (will require you to undergo a background check).
Available Visas
There are two visa options for Non- EU citizens to choose from for this Au Pair program: An Au Pair visa or a student visa. If you are from Europe, you will not need a visa to be an Au Pair. However, non-EU citizens who are looking to stay on the program for up to 3 months, will need to obtain a valid passport, a return ticket and a Schengen visa. If you plan on Au Pairing in Spain for longer than 3 months, you will need to obtain a student or Au Pair visa from your local Spanish embassy prior to starting your trip.
If you are looking to acquire a student visa, you will need to be enrolled in a language school for around 20 hours per week however, the number of hours you will be required to attend will differ depending on the school you have been accepted into. For Au Pair visas, may only be required to attend for around 6-10 hours depending on how long your placement is for. If you are unsure on whether you want to apply for either of these visas you don’t need to make the decision straight away and it is in fact possible to apply for one up to 2 months after your arrival into the country.

Guide to Starting your Journey as an Au Pair in Spain
Step 1: Fill assessment form
Fill out our online assessment form to check your eligibility or to start your application.
Step 2: Finding you a Host Family
Once your application is complete, interviews between yourselves and possible host families will be conducted either over the phone or through video chat. These interviews will allow both parties to get to know the other to help determine whether they would be a good match. Once a match has been found, an agreement will need to be signed by your host family and contract will be given to both parties.
Step 3: Booking your Flight!
Once you are paired up with a suitable host family, it is time to take the next step and book your flight to Spain! But don't panic as we will still be here to guide and support you every step of the way
