Sous Chef
RATE OF PAY: Starting at $15.00 per hour
CLASSIFICATION: Full-time; 30-40 hours per week
LOCATION: Nova Scotia
DATE OF JOINING: June 2023
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Assists in interviewing and selecting staff with management assistance (Chef)
- Sets goals and objectives for the department with management assistance
- Ensures that agreed policies and standards are adhered to
- Establishes job descriptions and task sheets for all food preparation staff with management
- assistance
- Maintains ongoing training and development of employees
- Evaluates staff with management assistance
- Conducts regular communication and pre-meal meetings
- Schedules staff efficiently by using forecasts and actual housecount
- Reviews staffing schedules with Management
- Ensures that all controls are in place and adhered to
- Controls par stocks, orderings and requisitions
- Is aware of health department regulations and ensures that they are adhered to
- Controls the maintenance and upkeep of the department
- Responsible for the preparation and maintenance of the operating manual
- Conducts performance reviews according to White Point policy
- Is fully capable of performing the duties of all food preparation department positions
