It allows the person to come to the UK and set up a new branch of his overseas business that has not started trading in the UK.
To be eligible for this visa, one must already be working in the overseas business as a senior manager or specialist employee.

Eligibility:

You have to have a certificate of sponsorship from your employer.
You have to show that you have worked with your employer outside the UK.
Should be skilled enough to be useful as a skilled employee and be qualified in the list of occupations.
One must work for at least 12 months for their employer outside the UK, unless they are earning over £73,900.
You should be paid at the minimum salary as a UK citizen or an equivalent of £42,400 per
year.

How long can you stay?

The time given in your certificate of sponsorship plus 14 days.
Or
For 12 months. Whichever is shorter.
One can extend their visa for up to an additional 12 months; they can stay for a maximum period of 2 years.

You can stay for 5 years or 6 years if you have spent time on one of these visas:
Intra-company Graduate Trainee visa
Intra-company Transfer visa
Graduate Trainee visa (Global Business Mobility)
Secondment Worker visa (Global Business Mobility)
Senior or Specialist Worker visa (Global Business Mobility)
Service Supplier visa (Global Business Mobility)

What you can do and cannot:

Can:
Work with your sponsored employer
Study
Bring your spouse and children as your dependents.
Travel abroad and return to the UK
Can do voluntary work.

Cannot:
Apply for permanent citizenship
Do a second job
Apply for benefits. Public funds.
Change of jobs, unless you are eligible.

Your partner and children:

Your dependent partner and children can apply to join you or to stay in the UK if they are eligible. Their tenure will end on the same date as yours, which is given in the certificate of sponsorship.
Partner:
Must be able to prove a civil partnership or marriage that is recognized in the UK
You have been living together in a relationship for at least 2 years.
Children:
Must be 16 or over
Who lives with you
Not married, or in a civil partnership, or doesn’t have his own children
Should be financially supported by you.
