                        Sous Chef

   RATE OF PAY: Starting at $15.00 per hour

    CLASSIFICATION: Full-time; 30-40 hours per week

    LOCATION: Nova Scotia

    DATE OF JOINING: June 2023

 

         JOB REQUIREMENTS

  •  Assists in interviewing and selecting staff with management assistance (Chef)
  •  Sets goals and objectives for the department with management assistance
  •  Ensures that agreed policies and standards are adhered to
  •  Establishes job descriptions and task sheets for all food preparation staff with management
  • assistance
  •  Maintains ongoing training and development of employees
  •  Evaluates staff with management assistance
  •  Conducts regular communication and pre-meal meetings
  •  Schedules staff efficiently by using forecasts and actual housecount
  •  Reviews staffing schedules with Management
  •  Ensures that all controls are in place and adhered to
  •  Controls par stocks, orderings and requisitions
  •  Is aware of health department regulations and ensures that they are adhered to
  •  Controls the maintenance and upkeep of the department
  •  Responsible for the preparation and maintenance of the operating manual
  •  Conducts performance reviews according to White Point policy
  • Is fully capable of performing the duties of all food preparation department positions
