There is a variety of long- and short-term volunteering programmes that you can take. Kenya, in particular, needs you for orphan care. If you sign up to help children in need in Kenya, you will make a real impact on the children and make them feel at home.

Short-Term
This is a short-term programme that allows you to both travel around the country and help those in need. For those who have less time and would like to help out and explore Kenya, we have the perfect trip for you!
For 2 weeks, join the special Volunteer and Travel Program in Kenya. Volunteer at an orphanage during the weekdays and go on an amazing Masai Mara safari on the weekend!
Cost
$475/week,Ā $225Ā for additional week (minimum two weeks)

Mid-Term
You will focus on defining and implementing a project that will create a significant positive long-term impact on the children you will be helping. The project will require you to combine your professional and personal experiences to solve an issue at your place of volunteering. You will create real results while gaining an enriching experience.

$375/week,Ā $125Ā for additional week (minimum four weeks)

Long Term Stay
This long-term programme is a great opportunity to gain valuable management and leadership skills through volunteering. This is a 4-month programme, with volunteers taking part in a variety of assignments, such as centre operations, community development, finance, fundraising, media and communications. You will create real impact while gaining life-changing experience and coaching from senior leaders.

$680Ā for four monthsĀ (minimum stay)

Activities to do in Kenya
Elephants Orphanage Tour
Kenya is well known for its amazing wildlife, so spending a few days exploring the animals must be at the top of your list. Why not visit the only elephant orphanage in Nairobi at the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, where youāll find an adopted family of baby elephants.
Youāll spend a few hours here watching them being fed and taking mud baths. You will then learn about the conservation efforts of Daphne and David Sheldrick. If you wish, you could also take a trip to the giraffe centre, where youāll be able to see endangered giraffes from the treetops.

Wildlife Safari
You canāt visit Kenya without going on a safari tour! Safaris can be slightly expensive and tend to come in a package of 3 days or more, but observing the animals in their natural habitat is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
The most famous wildlife viewing sanctuaries include the Maasai Mara, Amboseli, Lake Nakuru, and Tsavo East. Itās here where you’ll be able to catch a glimpse of the Africam Big 6, which includes lions, leopards, elephants, buffalo, and rhinos.

Hell’s Gate and Lake Naivasha
This private one-day tour will allow you to visit Lake Naivasha for a walking/biking safari experience in Hell’s Gate National Park. Here you will be able to view the big hippos on the shores of the lake, and bird watching, most notably the fish eagle.
Keep your eyes out for sightings of animals such as baboons and buffalo inside the park. Later on in the afternoon, you will be taken to Lake Naivasha for a boat ride on the shores of the lake, where you will be able to see hippos and the birds.
