Greece Investment visa

Greece Golden Visa (Greece Investment Visa) was launched in July 2013. The Greece Golden visa grants applicants a five-year residency visa in return for an investment.

There are three options to choose from under the investment for the Greece Golden Visa

  • 250,000 Euros. Purchase of a special real estate for conversion from a commercial property into a residential use property or restoration of a listed building. Any location in Greece.
  • 400,000 Purchase of a single property in Greece with a minimum size of 120sqm.
  • 800,000 Euros for purchase of a property in the aerial of Athens, Thessaloniki, Islands of Mikonos, Santorini and 32 islands including-  and 32 islands which are: Crete, Euvoia, Rhodes, Corfu, Lesbos, Chios, Zakynthos, Salamina, Kos, Kefalonia, Samos, Lefkada, Syros, Naxos, Kalymnos, Lemos, Paros, Thassos, Aegina, Tinos, Ikaria, Andros, Leros, Karpathos, Skiathos, Milos, Skopelos, Spetses, Kythera, Patmos, Poros, Alonissos.

Greece Golden Investment visa is granted for five years and is renewed every five years if the property investment is retained. There is no need for the applicant to live in the country in order for them to maintain and renew the investor visa. However, the applicant can only apply for citizenship after being a resident for seven full years.

Costs

Properties with a building permit issued until 31/12/2005 3.09% of contract price.

Properties with a building permit issued after 31/12/2005 VAT of 24%

Notary fee 1.5%

Lawyers fee 1.25%

Registration of title deed 0.5%

 

The residence permit allows the applicant to live in Greece but not to work. However, the applicant can set up a business in Greece. Once granted the Greek residence permit allows freedom of travel throughout the EU Schengen zone.
