Au Pair in Germany

What are the benefits of Au Pairing in Germany?

As an Au Pair, you will have the chance to experience life abroad in a completely different way to your average tourist. Reinvent yourself whilst you develop new life skills and become a part of a new family as you learn all about what it means to live as a local in a beautiful and exciting country. As part of our Au Pair program, you will also be entitled to the amazing benefits listed below:
- A monthly spending allowance of 370 Euros
- Free flight to and from Germany including all connecting flights to the host family if the Au Pair commits to a 12 month stay (return flight only covered if Au Pair successfully completes the 12 months stay with host family).
- Two paid vacation days per month
- Minimum of 1.5 free days per week with 1 full free weekend per month
- Access to a 24-hour emergency phone number to support and help you if ever you need it
- You will also receive an all-inclusive comprehensive insurance package, including health, accident and third-party liability insurance.
Program Information
As part of this Au Pair program, you will be required to work anywhere up to 30 hours a week depending on which family you are paired with, with 1.5 days off per week and 1 paid vacation weekend off per month. Daily meals will be provided for you by your host family as well as your own private bedroom.
A monthly allowance of no less than 370 euros will be paid to you as will be stated in your contract agreement with the host family.
Requirements
- Candidates must be between the ages of 18 and 26 years old
- Male, female and diverse Au Pairs welcome
- Must have extensive experience looking after children
- Be able to commit to a 6 – 12 month placement
- A valid drivers license is preferred but not essential
- Non-English native speakers must have at least a level B2 in English
- Must have received education at GCSE level or equivalent (high school diploma)
- Be in good physical and mental health
- preferably a non-smoker
- Have no criminal record and be prepared to undergo a background check to support this
- Unmarried and without children
Required Documents
- Completed Au Pair Application form.
- 2 childcare references plus 1 character reference
- Police and Medical report
- Medical sheet (this is only necessary if you have any pre-existing medical issues)
- Form of ID (passport or drivers license)
- 1 photograph of yourself

Cost Breakdown
As part of our Au Pair in Germany program, a fee of £420 (486 euro) will be required. This will cover our administrative and management fee to handle your application from start to finish, including undergoing regular visits whilst you are living with your host family to ensure you are settling in well.
Guide to Starting your Journey as an Au Pair in Germany
Step 1: Fill out our Application Form
Follow the link to fill out an application form and be sure
to provide any additional documents such as childcare and character references,
medical records, a copy of your passport, drivers license and police check.
Step 2: Interview
Once you have completed and sent off your application form with all the relevant documents, if you are accepted, you will be Invited to attend an interview either of video call or face-to-face with someone from your agency. All the documents, along with the information from this interview and your application form, will then be sent to us at Alliance where we will begin the process to finding a host family best suited for you.
Step 3: Finding you a Host Family
Following a Skype call with ourselves where we will get to know you and gather all the relevant information we will need to match you with a suitable host family. We will then start sending your application to all our screened and registered host families who we deem to be a good match. If you are successful in matching you with a family, we will then go on to process the match and arrange your stay with them.
Step 4: Booking your Flight!
Now that you have been paired with a host family, it’s time
to make the next step and book your flight to Germany! But don’t worry as we
will be here to assist you every step of the way.
Once you have arrived in the country, one of our local representatives
will conduct an in-home welcome interview with yourselves and your host family along with a 3 month interview to ensure you are settling in well. They will
then be on hand to mediate between the family and yourselves should any issues
arise.
